Tech Task# 9: Infographics

In this post I would like to say something about infographics. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, an infographic (or information graphic) is “a visual representation of information or data”. But the meaning of an infographic is something much more specific. An infographic is a collection of imagery, charts, and minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of a topic.Visual communication is the practice of using visual elements to convey a message, inspire change, or evoke emotion

I have never used infographics in my previous placement but before. I think it is an important tool to use in the teaching learning process since it benefits both students and teachers. It helps students better understand the lesson by organizing information in different and logical ways that fits with their own learning styles. It also helps students think critically about a subject, data set, or complex ideas and become more engaged with the hands-on elements of infographic creation. I might consider using the following infographic for grade 9 social studies. The first one is about population growth of Canada  and the second one is about global poverty.
